Awaiting Cort's return

Cort is in Africa now and we are missing him a lot. A month seems like it won't be too bad, but these days alone with both kids might be changing my mind. They actually have been really good. Kate and Kimball are really missing their wrestle buddy. Cort is such a great dad. I luckily have been keeping myself busy at night reading the Twilight series. I am hooked! I am a little embarrassed to say that, being as they are kind of teeny-bopper books. I am awaiting August 2 when the last book comes out!

What super hero's really do at night

Between Kimball's batman and spider man pajamas, toys and his superman sheets, I am not sure if we could handle anymore super hero's in our house.(Even though he has not actually ever seen any cartoons or movies with these guys) He loves to pretend to be these characters and run around the house doing super hero tricks. You know like somersaults and leg kicks. This is one of the only times we can get pictures of him being still. We love our little man.

You have to love the classic spaghetti mess. Eating just isn't any fun unless you get it in every crease, and on the eye lids!

The Birthday Girl

I know, I know the earings and crown are a little much, but she just looks so darn cute and she had to be dressed like a princess. Look at those curls!!! I just want to eat her up.

Our little girl is 1!!

Katelyn is looking so grown up to me these days. I hold her a little tighter every chance I get since she's becoming so independent now. We can't seem to keep our lips off of her and usually attack her with kisses several times a day. We are trying to take advantage of this time and get in our daily quota of kisses. I grit my teeth thinking about how darn cute she is. I want to go steal her out of bed and snuggle with her. Seriously, we are just so in love with our little girl! Play Day

We found the coolest kids museum in Pasadena, and we had a play day with some ladies from church and their kids. Their was so much fun stuff for the kids to explore and do. The kids had a blast painting, climbing up human size ant holes, learning about bees, bugs, fossils, water, riding bikes, petting lizards, building kid size houses, getting wet and much more. We can't wait to go back and have more fun.

Kimball and his friend Sydney(behind him) doing a bee dance. This little girl is such a firecracker, she reminds me of Annie (from the old movie) for some reason.Is anybody else seeing this? She is so cute.


I love this face. Kate couldn't get enough of the water play area. I had to take her clothes off so they would dry. We don't usually let our kids stroll around public places in diapers.

Seen and Heard

I have decided to start doing Seen and Heard posts to keep track of all the funny things our kids do and say. They do so many cute things, that I tend to forget, and this will be a good way to keep track and share all at the same time!

Seen and heard: Kimball walking into the kitchen with his bike helmet on backwards.
"Look Mom, I'm a pollen jock!"(From the Bee movie for those who are lost.)

Seen: Kimball running around the house with his sword, stopping, pretending to cut his own throat and then running away.

Heard: "Mom, will you play sword's with me? I can be Peter Pan and you can be Allison." (Allison is the neighbor girl.)

Seen: Katelyn walking around holding a bar of Dove soap in her mouth she had pulled out of the shower.(I always thought that was supposed to be a punishment,apparently not in our house!)

Heard: While putting Kimball to bed last night, "Can you go get Jennifer, I want her to put me to bed."(Jennifer has babysat for us twice) Me:" You don't want me to tuck you in?" Kimball: "No, can you please just go get Jennifer."

Kimball has found a love for taking pictures of anything and everything. Here are a few pictures from his most recent photo shoot! He actually isn't all that bad, jutst random.

Perfection!

Kimball really likes to line things up perfectly, especially all of his cars. Almost every day he makes this perfect circle around the table, and heaven's forbid if you move one out of place. It is very cute, he not only does this at our house, but anywhere he goes that has cars, trains, you name it that can be made into a strait pattern.

The many hats of Katelyn

Kate looks so cute in hats, that we love to put them on her. This is a picture of her in one of her sun hats with a good friend of mine Christina. She was in down here for a tennis tournament and we got to meet up with her for a little bit. The kids had a lot of fun with her.
