The weather has been so nice the past two months that we have been able to hit the beach a couple of times. The kids love it and can never get enough pigeon chasing in.

Halloween happenings

We had a lot of fun this year with all of the Halloween happenings, the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving and lots of Halloween parties and trick or treating. The kids were so excited about it all, I was asked every day if it was time to carve pumpkins, or go trick or treating. It wasn't so cute after a couple of days when the pleading began on October 5th.

Kate was pretty upset that she didn't get to be a pirate just like her brother. This is what she really wanted to be, but we loaned it to a friend.

What has been going on with Kimball and Katelyn.

The kids had a great time this summer visiting with lots of cousins and grandparents. Kimball is so very observant of other people. He is always making us laugh with his comments, mostly about old men with "full tummies" (big guts).
Katelyn has returned to her defiant, feisty stage. She loves to accessorize, but we are going to have to work on the color schemes. The kids are both liking our new house and love having a back yard and a daddy that is home for lots of wrestling and tickling.

This is what has been happening with Cort.

To start things off, Cort had a birthday in July. We celebrated by dressing up like pirates and eating lots of cake. Then, two weeks later he graduated from the California Highway Patrol Academy. We are so proud of him and all of his hard work. It was a long six months, and loss of 50 pounds, but he did it! Then three days after graduation he moved us back down to Southern California. He is such a great husband and we are loving having him home every night and three to four days a week.

We are still here!!!

It has been a while. I am so far behind in posting that I don't know where to begin. So I am just going to post a few pictures from the last two months. Kate turned 2, and we can't believe it, she has us wrapped around her finger. Kimball has made a lot of new friends, started soccer and is getting cuter every day. Cort is almost done with the academy, 3 more weeks. He was assigned to the San Bernardino office for his first assignment. Were moving back to Loma Linda!!! We are really looking forward to being done with schooling and actually starting a career. I am looking forward to having a husband again, hooray for me.

The Diva and the Dude

It has been so fun lately as Kate has developed a very spunky little personality. She is very girly sometimes, and at other times she is growling like a lion, making gun noises and will only wear Kimball's shirts. Kate and Kimball have become good friends, and Kimball is always watching out and trying to take care of her. I love these two little bundles of energy.

The kids and I look forward to every Wednesday and Friday night when Cort gets to come home. Once he arrives the night usually continues with a lot of hugging, wrestling, Cort eating dinner, Cort shooting the kids with Nerf guns(which is one of their favorite things), stories, wrestling, lot's of laughing, and more hugs and kisses. We love our daddy!!!

The latest

There has been a lack of posts due to a broken camera. These pictures were the last one's we got on the camera. They are from our latest trip to see Papa and Grandma Winter in St. George. We had a lot of fun as usual and the kids are missing their best friend Bailey dog. Since our last post Kimball turned 4!!I can't believe how big he is. Kimball is full of energy and so much fun to be around. He makes me laugh every day and I am so grateful for his sweet, kind spirit. He loves his sister and is always ready to help, or tease her depending on the mood. We love our little dude. We had a little party for him with family, but of coarse, no pictures.


This is the kind of stuff I turn around and see while driving in the car. This kid cracks me up.

Seen and Heard

Seen and Heard: Kimball hiding in his closet with the door shut. I opened the door to find him with his scissors cutting Kate's doll's hair. Me: Kimball what are you doing? Kimball: Just giving the doll a hair cut. She needs a buzz just like me.
I guess I should just be glad that he wasn't cutting his sister's hair.

Heard: Kimball: Mom my nargins hurt! Me: Your what? Kimball: You know, my nargins. Me: You mean your noggin? Kimball: No mom, my nargins.(while pointing to his lower abdomen.)
I think you can figure out what he was trying to say. Thank you Caden for the information you supplied my son.

Seen and Heard: Kate standing by the front door knocking on it and saying over and over again, "Want Daddy-o."

Heard: While waiting for Cort to finish talking to someone at church Kimball saw a very large man. Kimball: Look mom, a snowman. Me: Kimball shhhh, that's not a snowman. Kimball: Yep, it's a snowman.
I was in tears laughing because he was so sweet and serious about his snowman sighting.

More Happenings

We have really been enjoying Sacramento and being so close to family. Kimball and Kate can't get enough of their cousins Caden and Calista. Cort is just beginning his sixth week in the academy and doing great. We love our ward here and they have already put us to work. We feel very blessed and are excited for what the upcoming months hold in store for us.

Kimball can always find something that needs to be fixed. Here he is showing off his "guns" as he likes to call them while fixing the play kitchen.

Does it make me a bad mom to have found Kate sleeping by the front door at 10am right before we were leaving to go to the park?

Finally an update!!

We are finally all settled here in Sacramento. Cort is three weeks into the CHP academy, working really hard, and pretty sore. In the academy their day begins at 4am and ends around 7pm. Talk about a long day with every minute scheduled. I would just like to add how proud I am of my handsome husband. For the past four years he has been working and going to school non-stop. He finished his grad school program in January with a great GPA and with honors. I cant help but be proud of the stud I married.
Next, there is Kimball who fills my day's at home with all sorts of excitement. I love my crazy boy.

Kate has been very demanding about going potty on the toilet. We have yet to see any results, but she seems enjoy the throne.
